Karaoke!!

Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81151134091

Get ready for our second AMSS event:

KARAOKE!! An event for fun and enjoyment….where everyone is a superstar in their own minds!!

APRIL 3rd @ 12 PM

REQUEST FOR SONG CHOICES to be sent via email to Master of playlist, Brother Zaf. or request songs in comments box by April 1st.

Zaf Mannan will be hosting this one hour event on Zoom (see link below). A long time “kroaker”, he believes in dragging everyone into the mix.

Send your song requests to zaf.mannan@cox.net as soon as possible (cut off is Friday April 02).

Some rules:
1. Songs can be of any language but no profanity or controversial lyrics please – the host reserves the right to exclude any song at his discretion.

2. Make sure you provide a link to your song (however, we reserve the right to use other karaoke providers for reduced technical complexity)

3. See the attached document for an idea of some Bollywood songs (mainly oldies preferred but newer ones are OK).

4. If you’re going to sing a song, be prepared to tell us a little about why you like this song. Since we may not be able to accommodate all singers and songs in the time available, we will judiciously reduce the run time of each song as necessary.

5. For duets, please ensure that you have arranged for both partners to take part before the event.

6. Due to time and organizational constraints, we may not be able to accommodate all requests to sing.

7. To obtain the best sound, all singers must use headsets to listen to the backing tracks while singing. It is best to use a headset/mic combo. If the sound quality is poor from your side, regrettably, we will have to move on to the next singer.

Candlelight Vigil: Victims Of Anti-Asian Hate Crime

Candlelight Vigil: Victims Of Anti-Asian Hate Crime

Friday, March 19, 2021

AZ State Capital Lawn

1700 W. Washington St. Phoenix, AZ 85007

Join us to mourn and discuss the current hate and violence committed to our Asian American and Pacific Islander community. On March 16, 2021, eight people were killed in Georgia during a mass shooting targeting Asian American women, which is the most recent occurrence. We will have a moment of silence to pay respect to each of the victims.

We will be meeting at the State Capitol on the lawn with live music, speakers, and a candlelight ceremony during sunset. This vigil is created to help our AAPI community heal from the rise in AAPI hate crimes within the past year. Since March 2020- December 2020, Anti-Asian hate crimes have increased 150%.

We encourage everyone to join us in solidarity with the AAPI community!
