Colorado Wildfires Relief

According to news sources, at least 300 homes have been destroyed and thousands of residents have had to evacuate due to wildfires fueled by high winds (110mph) that began on Thursday morning in Boulder, Colorado.

The Governor has declared a state of emergency and the damage is being compared to 2013 wildfires, which were the most destructive in Colorado's history.

ICNA Relief's Disaster Relief Services Team is currently on the ground assessing damage to affected areas. Our team is also working with mosque partners to collect supplies to prepare to help residents.

At this time, we are still waiting on the National VOAD [Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster] to allow teams into the affected areas.

Shaykh Huzaifah Khan’s Bio

Shaykh Huzaifah has served as Director of Religious Affairs/Imam at ISNA Canada from 2007 to 2019. He also served as Imam and teacher at the Islamic Society of Wichita Kansas from 2004 to 2007.

Shaykh Huzaifah Khan completed the memorization of the Quran in 1994 and has been leading every year since 1997 at various Masjids across North America, including a brief stopover in Scottsdale many Ramadans ago. He has also completed courses in Arabic, Tajweed, Tafseer, Fiqh, Seerah, Hadith, and Islamic Studies from reputable institutes in Canada and the UK.

He currently serves as Director of Religious Affairs/Imam at ICCM Milton (ICNA Canada).

Rescue & Recovery Works in Deadly Tornado Hit States

At least 88 people have been reported dead across 5 states, some of those victims were children. 35 confirmed tornadoes have resulted in 1000 homes destroyed in Kentucky alone and 26,000 businesses and homes are without power.
