Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the two co-directors in fulfilling the mission of CME-US, fostering deeper understanding about Muslim Americans and their contributions to American society, providing knowledge and resources for use by diverse people, and work to integrate the diversity of Muslim students attending ASU to succeed

Work with SHPRS staff in budgetary reporting and submitting payment requests;

Work with communications specialists to create event announcements, promoting CME activities, and keeping webpage up-to-date;

Assist with annual reports for broad circulation;

Keep up communications with stakeholders (i.e., local community, ASU faculty and students, donors, and associated national organizations);

Assist directors in identifying grant opportunities, help develop grant proposals, fulfill reporting and budgetary requirements for grants, and assist in coordinating grant implementation (e.g., organizing seminars, overseeing/coordinating research teams, etc.);

Oversee student research fellows;

Develop and upkeep a resources database, including identifying scholars with common interests; identifying institutions, centers, and organizations with shared mission; research and tracking work of local Muslim community organizations and the work they do;

Create and maintain a dynamic database of resources for ASU Muslim students;

Assist in the creation and maintenance of resources on local Muslim communities and histories for journalists, teachers, students, and others interested in learning about Muslim Americans, particularly the Arizona communities;

Develop library liaison to build a collection on Arizona Muslims, in partnership with the Arizona Historical Society and local museums

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse

Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals

Clearly communicate to perform essential functions

Create scholarship of the understudied history and achievements of Muslim experiences in America, contributing to a new field of study;

Disseminate the knowledge to the public, transforming images of Muslim Americans for positive understanding and improving inter-community relationships;

Strengthen ASU student success by cultivating inclusivity and belonging for Muslim students; and,

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000.00 per year; DOE
